New Family Divisions in Milford, Candia and Hampton
New locations designed to benefit families
CONCORD, NH - The Judicial Branch today announced three new Family Court Divisions will open on January 1, 2020 in Milford, Candia and Hampton.
According to Circuit Court Administrative Judge David D. King, "The opening of these three Family Division locations brings the Circuit Court closer to completing the Family Division expansion efforts started several years ago. New courthouses in Hampton and Milford have finally allowed us to further the legislature’s intention to have family matters heard closer to home, in their community court."
In 2020, each of the new locations will handle all Family Division case types:
- Divorce
- Parenting
- Name Change
- Abuse and Neglect
- Juvenile Delinquency
- Child in Need of Services
- Termination of Parental Rights
- Adoption
- Minor Guardianship
Also in January, family cases from the following towns will go to the following new locations:
Milford Family Division (New courthouse) 4 Meadow Brook Drive
Amherst, Lyndeborough, Mont Vernon, Milford, Brookline, Mason and Wilton
Candia Family Division, 110 Raymond Road
Auburn, Candia, Deerfield, Northwood, Nottingham and Raymond
Hampton Family Division (New courthouse), 3 Timber Swamp Road
Hampton, North Hampton, South Hampton, Hampton Falls and Seabrook
As part of the shift of cases to the three new Family Division locations, and pursuant to SB 127 signed by Governor Sununu in July 2019, cases from the towns of Newfields, Newmarket and Stratham will go to the Brentwood Family Division.
Beginning January 1, 2020, new Family Division filings from the impacted towns will be filed in the Family Division locations. Many cases already in process will transfer to the new locations on January 1. Notices to the parties in those cases will be sent at the beginning of this month.
