Circuit Court to consolidate processing of probate cases

CONCORD, NH – The Circuit Court today announced a central Estates Electronic Filing Center (EEFC) will open on December 12, 2019.  The center will process all estate cases filed in the state. Located at the newly renovated Probate Court building at 2 Charles Doe Drive in Concord, the center will have a team dedicated to processing only estates and related work. This will allow the court system to continue to develop expert processors and provide improved service for the approximately 7,000 new estates filed each year. 
   
    The Administrative Judge of the Circuit Court, David D. King, commented on the reason behind the EEFC saying, “The recent opening of the new Probate Courthouse in Concord, and the impending expansion of electronic filing in the circuit court, have provided us with the need and an opportunity to consolidate the majority of state-wide probate processing at this new location.”   

     King added, “The circuit court has been accepting electronically filed estates since May 2017 and has processed over 16,000 estates since then.  Despite staffing challenges, the time to disposition has been improved significantly in most estates as a result of the electronic filing process, and has greatly increased access for unrepresented filers through our TurboCourt platform.”

     Under the leadership of Clerk Sharon Richardson, the Concord courthouse will also continue to serve the probate needs of the 6th Circuit, and house the Complex Trust Docket.  Due to the high volume of estate filings, and the unique needs of electronic filing, current staff will be augmented by adding a customer service coordinator at this location to assist e-filers with any questions they may have as they file estate related documents on-line. Additionally, once the circuit court goes live with electronically filed name change petitions, more than 90% of all probate matters will be paperless and processed centrally in Concord.

New Addresses for the EEFC and Concord Probate:
Beginning December 12

   To avoid delivery delays, wills, death certificates and estate bonds will need to be mailed or delivered to the new EEFC at: Estates Electronic Filing Center, 2 Charles Doe Drive, Suite 2, Concord, NH 03301.

   When the EEFC moves to the courthouse on Charles Doe Drive, the Concord Probate Division mailing address will change to: 6th Circuit- Concord- Probate Division, 2 Charles Doe Drive, Suite 1, Concord, NH 03301.
