N.H. Supreme Court Task Force on Domestic Violence Cases in the N.H. Judicial System to Hold Public Hearing on January 21

CONCORD, NH— The New Hampshire Supreme Court Task Force on Domestic Violence Cases in the New Hampshire Judicial System will hold a public hearing from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022, at the Supreme Court Building on Charles Doe Drive in Concord to receive the views of any member of the public, the bench, or the bar as the Task Force considers what to recommend to the Supreme Court as to the subjects it has been charged with reviewing. 

The subjects under consideration by the Task Force are as follows:

1.  Existing superior and/or circuit court practice and procedure in domestic violence cases and resources needed to better support domestic violence victims.
2.  Current status of New Hampshire law regarding domestic violence.
3.  Criteria for making appellate decisions related to domestic violence and civil stalking protective orders available to the public on the judicial branch website. 
4.  Court forms related to domestic violence.
5.  Increasing access for domestic violence victims to legal counsel and victim advocates. 
6.  Current state of relationships among courts, law enforcement, criminal defense bar, and domestic violence advocates and steps to improve communication.
7.  Any other relevant subject matter.

Comments on any of the subjects the Task Force is charged with reviewing may be submitted in writing to the recording secretary of the Task Force at any time on or before January 31, 2022, or may be submitted at the hearing on January 21, 2022.
